SeaVenture Pismo Beach
Type: Commercial – destination hotel, restaurant
Building Method: Poured in place concrete, type 5 wood frame, stud and stucco, metal roofing
The SeaVenture Hotel is right on the sand on the beach just south of the main pier in Pismo Beach, CA. The project consists of underground concrete podium type parking structure with two stories of hotel and restaurant above. Construction of the foundation was problematic since the depth of the foundation was below sea level and dewatering was a constant problem. The hotel is wood frame construction with sloping metal roofing panels, similar to those used on Pre-engineered metal buildings, on the first level of rooms with the third floor containing a restaurant with outdoor dining deck. There is a boardwalk across the front of the hotel giving an unobstructed view of the sand out to the ocean waves. Each room of the hotel has a private deck with a private Jacuzzi on the deck to enjoy as you look out over the ocean.
