SANTA PAULA, CA – The good thing about pre-engineered metal buildings is that they last a long time…. The bad thing about metal buildings is that they last a long time. After 30 years of weathering, it was time to give this building a facelift. This metal building in Santa Paula was originally built in 1985 and needed a fresh look for its new tenant.
The advantage of upgrading the look of a metal building is that you do not have to tear off the old siding and roofing to apply the new sheeting. For this building, the new, white sheeting fit the corrugations of the original building, so all that had to be done was to remove superfluous outlets and hardware from the outside of the building and then screw the new metal sheeting over the old. The original roof did not have to be removed since a completely new roof could be laid over the top of the existing roof without disrupting operations below. This new roof provides added thermal value to the roof structure and covers up any existing leaks that had developed in the old roof.
When all is said and done, you cannot tell this building has been completely renewed from its original worn-out appearance.
